Have you lost your SHINE?
"Shine" is an important word to me. I love the image it conjures up. Light. Bright. Alive. Energized. Beautiful.
I also love what it says in the Bible in Matthew 5: 14-16...
"Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand-SHINE! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven."
Wow. I LOVE this. You are here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world! What an amazing privilege. The way you do this is by bringing out the God-colors in yourself, first. You have to love yourself, nourish yourself, and allow your light to shine, without anything hindering it.
When you feel good about yourself, when you're healthy and well, then you are able to share your light, your love, and yourself with others.
That's when you change the world.
What do you need to do this week to bring out your own God-colors? And, then what will you do to inspire others to SHINE?
